The Middle Kingdom
1991-1786 BC
The Middle Kingdom included the conquest of Nubia and trade with Syria, Palestine and Mesopotamia. By this time, the capital was Thebes. Eventually, it collapsed and the Hyksos overran it.
The Hyksos were semitic people who overran the Middle Kingdom and brought horses and horse-drawn chariots to Kemet. They also improved the bows (as in “bow and arrow”).
