Achaean/Mycenaean Civilization
Or, The World According To Odysseus

Odysseus's world view

The Achaeans had a city, Mycenae. From this interesting mainland civilization sprung Odysseus, our old friend. (Check our his world view, above.)

This Mycenaean civilization probably did raid Troy, but it wasn't as big a deal as it seems today: it was just a raid, not a war, especially not over Helen. (However, it is interesting to note that Agamemnon, who was slain by Clytemnestra, was an Achaean king.) Of course, these fictional characters probably aren't the most accurate representatives for the Mycenaean Civilization.

On the other hand, we do know that there was a lot of unity between the Achaeans--just like in Homer's books. But, in the end of the 13th century BC, the Dorian Dark Ages arrived, ending the glorious days of the Mycenaean Civilization.
