Gaius Julius Caesar

Born approx. 100 BC, Julius Caesar died 44 BC with his assassination (literally backstabbed by fellow politicians who he thought of as friends, people trying to preserve the Roman Republic). He was consul, and then dictator for life. He fought in civil wars with former friend Pompey the Great (Caesar won). Brilliant general, statesman, orator and writer. But he is most well known from the rhyme, Julius Caesar, the Roman geezer, squashed his wife in a lemon squeezer.

Just kidding.
